Captions in YouTube: accurate and in sync

The pandemic has pushed a lot of teachers into distance education. And distance ed requires — legally, yes, but also pedagogically — that we accurately caption our videos.

At a recent workshop, some colleagues expressed interest in a video about how I handle captions in YouTube… et voilà!

I’d heard of this magic, this “noise cancellation,” but I’d dismissed it pretty much out of hand.  That’s pretty odd for me, given my deeply held faith in technology, especially tech connected to the the dark arts of audio. You’d think I’d have known better.

I took a hiatus from my daily journal, hoping that it would open up some time for other writing projects. It did free up some time (this blog is partly the result of that) but I think it was a mistake. So I’m jumping back in, using the same tool I’ve used for the past decade.
